Dr Denise Gatt has been working in the area of quality assurance for the last ten years. Her current role is that of Director, Quality and Standards in Education within the Ministry for Education, Sport, Youth, Research and Innovation (MEYR). Her role as Director focuses on leading the regulatory body for pre-compulsory and compulsory education in Malta across the different sectors. Prior to the role of Director, Dr Gatt was an educator within secondary and post-secondary institutions and also held the role of Education Officer, leading external reviews in numerous schools in Malta. She has successfully completed a Ph.D at the University of Malta focusing on the importance of School self-evaluation as an internal quality assurance mechanism.
